We, a group of 4 couples, were very dubious having read recent reviews on the hotel but upon arrival 4 hours before check in as going to a festival close by the staff were fab letting us check in early, although we couldn't access our rooms so early. We had a drink in the pub while waiting for our transport which was a lovely quaint little pub. We returned at 10pm, still quite worried about what we would find.... what we got was a big room, clean, comfy bed, lovely bathroom with a big walk in shower in our room on the ground floor, our other friends on the first floor all had baths with showers over. Nothing like we were expecting from the awful reviews! The next morning we all purchased breakfast in the restaurant at the pub. It was £10.50pp and had everything you could want... toast, a huge variety of cereal, fruit juices, tea, coffee and pastries all help yourself then they took an order for cooked breakfast, again a lovely selection of full cooked, hot porridge, fresh omelettes, which were huge... and more. We were very impressed and it was red hot and really tasty. All in all, it was a lovely stay, the staff were really friendly, the room was much more than adequate for the price and the breakfast was well worth the money! We would all stay again if we were visiting the area.

2nd time I have stayed here and the experience is the same which is fine apart from the fact they haven't changed the inedible sausages so I have cut and pasted my last review below This is a budget priced hotel but the room was large, decent tv and shower, breakfast was fine for the price and if they change their brand of sausages will be excellent Mostly the chap at breakfast and the lady at the bar (I think the owner) were superb and obviously care that the business does well Possibly not the place to take your partner for a romantic trip but spot on for a value business trip

If we had paid attention to some of the Tripadvisor comments we might not have booked BUT that would have been a big mistake. Admittedly it is a wee bit of a barn of a place BUT the dining room has a very pleasant ambience and the food is good and most reasonably priced. The bedroom was clean and decidedly comfortable. The staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. All in all great value for money.

We booked our stay at casa mere to simply sleep in the room and have accommodation near to a main road off the motorway. The stay was comfortable and good value for money, we slept well on the bed, didn't have any issue with cleanliness or dust in the room, whenever we spoke to the staff they were helpful and catered to any issues we had. Would fully recommend staying here.

Room was very clean and tidy. What made the stay great was the staff- I was greeted by such a warm welcome from George (FOH manager) on reception and what a lovely guy! He was very professional yet so attentive. Travelling solo for work as a female can be quite daunting but George really made me feel so welcome and at ease.
